The Good, The Bad, and The Very Ugly

The Good - We (Landon, Mason, and I) just returned from a trip to see my family. We had a good time and it was great to see everybody, we even got to see my brother who we hardly get to see. There's always lots of fun stuff to do when we go see the fam so the boys were thoroughly entertained. Flying on the airplane was also a highlight for both boys who thought it was pretty great.

The Bad - The morning before we left Mason woke up with a runny nose so we all proceeded to get a cold while we were gone. It was pretty mild though and we weren't miserable with it. However, Mason then advance on to the stomach flu or something of the sort. He tossed his cookies twice on Sunday and had some seriously nasty middle-of -the -night diapers that burned his little bum. Naturally I didn't have any Desitin so all I could do was wipe his poor little bum and slap another diaper on until morning.

The Ugly - (this section of the post contains a huge TMI (too much info) alert, so those with a weak constiution may not want to read on) Monday night, the night before we were SUPPOSED to leave, Landon started into the whole tossing of the cookies business. As I am sitting there catching it in my hand for him I thought to myself A) there really is nothing a mother is not expected to do and B) there is no way I am going to not get this. As predicted an hour later my tummy hurt to high heaven and 90 minutes later the show was on. I spent the next 7 hours running to the bathroom at least once an hour if not more, sitting on the toilet and heaving into the garbage can, all the while listening to my poor little boy heaving upstairs. It's a good thing Grandma was there. Tuesday, depsite the fact the bathroom business was pretty much over we still felt pretty nasty so we missed our flight and had to catch one the next day.

All in all it was good to spend time with everyone but it was definitely a trip I'd rather not repeat. Poor little Landon is still a little gun shy about eating and who can blame him!
