Back to school

It was back to school for us this week and man alive did the mom have a hard time adjusting after the lazy summer we had. I was exhausted by Wednesday night and went to bed soon after the kids both Wed and Thurs night. But for 2 1/2 glorious hours, 3 days a week, all 3 boys are in school and I can run errands with only 1 tiny baby and it is positively blissful! I am bummed about summer vacation being over though, I do actually miss them sometimes.

Landon going into 4th grade and Mason into 1st. The expressions on their faces say it all about how they feel. Mason was super excited and Landon would rather be going just about anywhere but school.
Owen's first day was the next day. He's so silly, we can rarely get a photo of him NOT posing or goofing in some way. He went relatively peacefully to school all week so I'm hopeful this year will be much improved over last year with the drop-off situtation.

And this sweet little peanut got 2 teeth this week! Landon got teeth about this age too so it's not unheard of for us but just drives home the point how fast she's growing...too fast! At least I know why she was such a grouch and not sleeping well.

We also had some excitement this week with the weather at our house. It seems like about once a year we get on seriously crazy rain storm roll through and that was this week. At first it started to slowly hail and I noticed the hailstones looked a little larger than usual, dime to nickel sized. So I hurriedly grabbed a blanket to cover the windshield (which we had just replaced) and hood on the Jeep. I got hit by a few hailstones in the process and it did not feel good by-the-way. Then we just sat back and watched it unfold. In the flash flood warning that went out they said we got 1 inch of rain in 15 minutes and around 2 inches in the time the storm lasted, about 40-45 minutes. Just a couple of miles up the road the hailstones were ping pong sized and they were plowing it off the roads with snow plows. That stuff did some damage so I'm happy we don't live there!
