La Playa!

Mark and I spent last week in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico with some good friends and it was FABULOUS!! We went out to Cozumel island for a tour of the island and some snorkeling. The reef wasn't the greatest but we had some awesome food and still got to see some fish and other cool stuff. We went to Tulum (some ancient Mayan ruins) which was amazing. We also snorkeled in Tulum where the reef was much better. Unfortunately, I apparently get seasick snorkeling! I thought it was just a fluke the first day but the second day it was confirmed....snorkeling, not for Amy. Also, in Tulum we swam in a cenote, which is a sinkhole that fills with freshwater from the underground river around there. It was super cool, there were caverns you could swim back into and it was gorgeous. Our resort was great, it was like a jungle with all kinds of animals wandering around (monkeys, iguanas, birds, and these little rat things called tzereque). We also had a really nice beach which we spent lots of time relaxing on and swimming in the ocean. We missed the kiddos while we were gone but it was such a great trip and was nice to get away. It was the first time in 7 years of parenthood that we went anywhere without them! Here are just a few pics, if you come and visit us we will bore you with our neverending slideshow of vacation pics!
