Missed Excitment

A couple of months ago, around Thanksgiving, Mark and Landon found a caterpillar in the garage. They took pity on the poor little critter who must have had his seasons mixed up. They brought him inside and put him in a jar with some food.

We anxiously waited to see what would happen and were not disappointed when we found him all cocooned up one morning a couple weeks later. Notice his shed skin off to the right, ewwwww!


It stayed like that for about a month and finally a few days ago we noticed it wiggling, we were so excited to see what would come out! Naturally it came out in the middle of the night and got lost in our house somewhere. We haven't seen anything of it! We were so bummed to have missed the grand finale. From what we could find on the internet we believe it was just a little miller moth but it still would have been pretty cool to see the whole cycle.
